What Happened When Kim Was Robbed In Paris?

On a Monday morning at 3 A.M. on the 3rd of October, the Paris Criminal Police received a call from 36 Quai des orfèvres which is the headquarters of the Paris Criminal police about an armed robbery. While this is not unusual, the victim Kim Kardashian was. The best part about this the call is that the chief of police had no idea who she was. After checking with a couple of officers who had no idea either, he sought Google’s help.

Although he could not reveal many details as the investigation is still in progress, the crime did happen, and it was not a hoax. Her did agree that it was one of the most unusual cases he had ever handled. The heist was wilder and much worse than any other reality show on TV. As an after math it consumed long hours of the police professionals, control the paparazzi during the fashion week, etc.

For the thieves, the times are getting to be very difficult. Banks are becoming safer, and the cash is being transferred by wire. The trucks that carry loads of cash to the ATMs are now being amped up with extra protection, and many of the past offenders have been put behind bars. There is no way robbers can operate at the bank. So, they need to attack people at home or on the street.

France has very strict laws against holding personal wealth, jewelry and other valuables. Therefore, people hold on to large amounts of cash at homes which make it an easy target for the thieves.

Unfortunately, Kim was subject to the dark side of the city during her stay at Paris. Kim always is known to attract attention from the paparazzi; they kept close watch of her schedule via Social Media. She stayed at a private home that was converted into a hotel which did not have CCTV monitoring and sparse security. Since celebrities are known to stay there, most robbers know that it is a potential target location.

During the Olympics, she kept her nerves and earned the first gold medal of the Rio Olympics by winning the women’s 10-meter air rifle. 19-year-old, she was quoted saying it has been an incredible year.

Thrasher rose to the top with a lot of hard work. Initially, she was a figure skater during her growing up years. Five years earlier after returning from a family hunting trip, she continued shooting and had been hitting the mark ever since. During the NCAA season at West Virginia, she became the first freshman to win the NCAA rifles titles.

She also won the U.S. Olympic trials winning the spot at Rio. She finished just a slot behind Sarah Scherer qualifying to participate in the finals. She scored a perfect 10.9 in the elimination round as Scherer got knocked out.

As the competition progressed, Thrasher retained the top spot and scored consistently in the 10s. When she entered the finals, she was leading with 0.7 points and in the first round scored an impressive 10.5 that was matched by the fellow contender Li. She scored a 10.4 in the next round which Li failed to match up as she scored 10.1 landing her on the top spot on the podium. The fact that she pulled this feat among the top most shooters in the world is certainly a cherry on top of her victory cake.

Li had won gold medals in the 2004 Athens games, and she also progressed until the second round in the 2012 London Games. The fact that Thrasher had won against two Chinese shooters to win the medal is a sweet surprise.

An elated Thrasher informed the press that she is looking forward to joining back school. A biomedical engineering major, she will be starting school from August 2017.

Giant spacecraft Juno Lands on Jupiter

A solar-powered spacecraft that is as big as a basketball court is all set to land on Jupiter on July 4. The spacecraft will study the planet and capture high-resolution photographs of Jupiter.

The robotic probe that is launched by NASA named as Juno will carry scientific instruments that aid the scientists to understand how the planet evolved and formed. Considered as the largest planet in the solar system, Jupiter is almost 11-times bigger than earth. It has been believed by researchers that it was the first ever planet to have been formed.

The main reason behind launching Juno is to find out about the Solar System. There have been many spacecraft that has landed in Jupiter earlier. But Juno will answer many of the questions that have been hanging in the air for a long time.

Although Jupiter looks almost like the sun, it is much more than that. What it is made of and many other secrets are expected to be explored by Juno.

Juno will look at the interior portions of Jupiter and help in answering many questions. The spacecraft that orbits the planet at about 3,000 miles above the clouds. During this time, it will try to dodge the radiation belts to study the planet.

To protect itself from radiation, Juno has electronic vaults in-built. There is also the color camera that will take up-close shots of the planet for research.
